Using visual imagery to tell stories, document, and reflect the versatility of Baltimoreans — politically, socially, truthfully, and imaginatively — in order to help articulate the voices of the community and prioritize care and attentiveness. As an image maker, Shan's life’s work, voice, and process is constantly shaped by collaboration with the people she photographs, her sitters, and subjectivity, so it’s continually adapting.
