If you’re trick-or-treating tonight, you might want to grab an umbrella. The forecast, as of 2:45 p.m., says we’re almost guaranteed to have some rain.

According to weather.com, there’s a chance of rain and showers beginning between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. today in Baltimore. At 6 p.m., the forecasting website says there’s a 100% chance of rain.

Other parts of Maryland, including Westminster in Carroll County, Columbia in Howard County and Bel Air in Harford County are forecasted to get rain around the same time. In Annapolis, the forecast says rain is likely to begin between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Austin Mansfield, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says he’d place the odds of precipitation in the area “upward of 80%” in the region, especially in the late afternoon and evening. It’s likely the precipitation will continue into Tuesday morning, Mansfield said.

According to data from the National Weather Service, the last time it rained in Baltimore on Halloween was in 2019, when the region recorded just under 1 inch of rain. That’s the only time in the last 20 years the region has recorded more than one-tenth an inch of rain on Oct. 31.

Temperatures in Baltimore on Halloween have ranged from a low of 30 degrees in 2011 to a high of 77 degrees in 2019. The forecasted high in Baltimore today is 65 degrees and the forecasted low is 59 degrees.
