Waves of rain moved through Baltimore early Saturday, and forecasters predicted clouds will continue to hang around as horses, jockeys and fans gather for the Preakness Stakes.

Temperatures started in the 50s to middle 60s, with a high predicted to approach 70 before the day is out. By post time at Pimlico Race Course, horses, jockeys and race goers should see cloudy skies and maybe a stray shower or two, according to the National Weather Service.

The wet weather could leave the racetrack muddy, jockeys dirty and some of the well-dressed race goers soggy.

Rain will continue into the evening, with a few threats of flooding possible in Anne Arundel County and the Chesapeake Bay area.
