Baltimore County police shot a man still in his vehicle Tuesday morning at the Royal Farms at the intersection of Ebenezer Road and Pulaski Highway.

Joy Stewart, a police spokesperson, said officers attempted to apprehend a man and woman wanted by police, shortly after 6 a.m. The two were inside a Kia SUV after their vehicle allegedly struck a police detective’s car in White Marsh.

After the man’s vehicle also collided with a civilian vehicle, a detective discharged a weapon, striking the man. He is in critical condition now at Bayview Hospital, police said.

No officers were injured at the scene. The officer-involved shooting is under investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, while members of the Police Crash Team handle the crash investigation.
