Baltimore Police crime scene tape remains on the scene after a vehicle exploded inside a five-story parking garage in Baltimore’s Fells Point neighborhood on 7/27/22. Two people are being treated for injuries, fire officials said Wednesday afternoon.

A 26-year-old man remains in grave condition after being shot by a security guard early Sunday morning during a confrontation at a Royal Farms in Southwest Baltimore, police said.

It is the second shooting involving security guards in Baltimore in the past 10 days.

The most recent incident occurred at approximately 3:27 a.m. Sunday. Officers responded to a call for a shooting at the Royal Farms in the 1800 block of Washington Boulevard and found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries due to an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Medics took him to an area hospital in critical condition. Police said Monday that he died later Sunday, then reversed course and said he remained in grave condition.

On Oct. 21, another unidentified man was shot in the face at the CVS Pharmacy on 600 block of Exeter Street in Harbor East.

According to a Southeast District preliminary investigation, patrol officers found that the victim was observed stealing items from inside the store.

When the victim attempted to leave the store with the stolen merchandise, he was confronted by a security officer. The victim then pulled out a needle syringe and attempted to stab the security officer. The security officer fired his weapon, striking the victim in the face, police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
