Growing up around West Baltimore, Terry Wedington, better known as “TSU Terry,” found it hard to stay out of trouble.

“I needed an outlet due to my parents being absent,” Wedington said. “Oh my goodness, I needed something to do. Basketball wasn’t it. But then dance came around” when he was 14.

Seventeen years later, he’s still moving.

The choreographer, instructor and battle dancer now leads the award-winning Team Squad Up — or TSU — Dance Crew, which has opened for artists such as Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Durk. “I feel like dance found me,” he said. He is currently on tour with the Monsters dance convention.

The Banner recently caught up with Wedington for a short demonstration of three classic dance moves with a Baltimore heritage: the Spongebob, crazy legs, and the Cherry Hill.
