September is in full swing and fall is right around the corner. But while the morning air begins to turn crisp, some Howard County businesses are holding onto summer for a little longer.

From the End of Summer bash at K-9 & Coffee to another Wine Bin summer movie night, here are some things to do in the county for the week ending Sept. 11.

The free event is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Summer movie night at The Wine Bin

Starts at 8 p.m. Saturday

In the iconic film “Field of Dreams,” Kevin Costner’s character Ray Kinsella hears a voice out in the Iowa cornfields saying, “If you build it, he will come.” His character takes that to mean he should build a baseball field in his cornfield. He does — and then the rest, well, you’ll have to see for yourself.

Watch “Field of Dreams” on Saturday night at The Wine Bin. There are wine tastings and live music before the movie is shown. The Wine Bin’s parking lot closes 90 minutes before the movie begins for the live music. Moviegoers can purchase snacks and libations from the Bin, or can bring takeout from a local restaurant on Main Street.
