St. Frances and Archbishop Spalding, the top two teams in the final Baltimore Banner/VSN Top 15, are Nos. 1 and 2 in the final state media football poll.

It’s a record fifth straight final No. 1 ranking by St. Frances, ranked 11th nationally by USA Today. The East Baltimore school was ranked as high as No. 2 before losing to Florida’s IMG Academy in the regular season finale.

It’s the highest final ranking for Spalding, which won its first MIAA A Conference championship last month. The Cavaliers won their final 11 decisions after a season-opening loss at New Jersey’s Don Bosco Prep.

Undefeated state champions Dunbar and Milford Mill finished eighth and ninth, respectively. The Millers won their first state title since 1987 while the Poets collected their record 12th state championship.
