The Ravens (8-5) will face the New York Giants (2-11) at 1 p.m. Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Here are game predictions from The Baltimore Banner’s sports staff.

Time for the Ravens to be bullies

Kyle Goon, columnist: It feels almost superfluous to pick this game, because it feels fairly obvious that the Ravens will win given the stakes (and the lack of stakes for their opponents). But this is a game that how Baltimore wins matters. Derrick Henry should be too much to handle for a Giants defense that has been decimated by the run game. Tommy DeVito should be overwhelmed by a healthier Ravens pass rush and secondary. It’s not enough that there’s a huge mismatch on paper — the final score should look like a mismatch, too. In the four-game run that has massive implications for the postseason, Baltimore needs to get out to the best start possible and show a business mindset that will carry into January.

Renewed, refreshed, reinvigorated Ravens

Giana Han, reporter: This shouldn’t be a question of who wins but by how much. Unless this turns into the surprise of the Las Vegas Raiders game, this should be an easy entrance back into the season after the bye.

The Ravens are rested and healthier after the bye. While they didn’t have that many players sitting out with injury, they had players going at less than 100%, with defensive lineman Travis Jones one of the most notable. On top of that, they’ve already had their wake-up call on defense and started to turn things around. The offense dipped but should benefit from rest after 13 straight weeks of play.

Meanwhile, the Giants don’t have a great run defense to stop the Ravens’ strength on offense. And they don’t have a great pass attack to target the Ravens’ weakness on defense. This is an optimal matchup for the Ravens.

A big mismatch, and a big opportunity

Jonas Shaffer, reporter: The Giants’ starting quarterback is a magnet for sacks. Their star wide receiver is banged up. Their lead running back has a fumbling problem. Their offensive line is in shambles. Their pass rush has fallen off a cliff. Their secondary just lost a regular starter. Their injury list is as long as the New Jersey Turnpike. Their fans want the No. 1 draft pick more than they want a win.

If the Ravens can’t take a big enough lead to get a better look at some young, unproven pieces — Andrew Vorhees, Ben Cleveland and David Ojabo chief among them — this road trip will have been a disappointment.

Perfect timing for a get-right game

Brandon Weigel, editor: The Ravens haven’t always been in sync this season. When the offense is flying high, the defense is a mess. Now that the defense has gotten its act together, the offense has fallen back to the level of mere mortals. John Harbaugh typically makes good use of the bye. Since taking over the team in 2008, he’s 13-3 coming off the break.

I think he’ll have his team ready for the arduous task of playing three games in 11 days. The Giants are a mess. They’re down to Tommy Cutlets on the quarterback depth chart. Their defense is 29th in rushing yards allowed (141.7 per game). They are extremely banged up. Derrick Henry should go off, and we might see Lamar Jackson tuck and run a few more times to avoid another angry phone call from his mom.
