The Ravens medical team tended to a sideline worker who collapsed near halftime of Sunday’s game, briefly delaying it.

With 2:36 left in the second quarter, players from both teams took a knee and turned their attention to a situation along the Ravens sideline.

Medical professionals ran to the end of the Ravens bench and knelt around someone who had collapsed, eventually administering chest compressions. The team announced he was a member of the chain gang.

The man was taken off the field via cart. His fingers were moving, and he was seen talking to those tending to him. The team announced that, “upon leaving the field, he was alert and responsive. He’s been taken to a local hospital.”

“I’m just grateful that he was revived,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “Thank God, first of all. There was prayers being made. .. And the EMS people, I mean they were on the spot. They jumped right into action, man. They were heroes out there today. That gentleman has been on our sideline. He’s a wonderful person. I see him every week. To see those guys do their jobs, and him come back like that, it was a miracle.”

The emergency occurred immediately after Ravens coach John Harbaugh threw a challenge flag after a ball thrown to Zay Flowers was ruled incomplete. The officiating crew announced that the call on the field stood before players noticed the emergency. The delay lasted about five minutes.
