Quarterback Lamar Jackson won’t play in the Ravens’ preseason opener Friday night, but he got plenty of work against his defensive teammates Wednesday.

Unofficially, Jackson went 30-for-39 in team drills at one of his busiest training camp practices, including 14-for-19 in 11-on-11 action and 16-for-20 in seven-on-seven action. He heated up late, connecting on 17 of his final 18 attempts. Here’s how Jackson’s day as a passer unfolded, period by period, throw by throw, along with other notes from Wednesday’s practice.

11-on-11: 1-for-2

2. Facing third-and-long, Jackson connected with wide receiver Zay Flowers on a “hole shot” of about 15 yards down the left sideline.

Highlights

  • Damarion Williams’ day in coverage was far from perfect, but he had one of the practice’s best highlights, intercepting a throw from rookie quarterback Devin Leary after he undercut a route from Cunningham for a red-zone pick.
  • Rookie wide receiver Devontez Walker, one of the team’s fastest players, has had difficulty in camp coming down with deep shots, even against second- and third-string defensive backs. But he had an impressive jump-ball grab over cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis, connecting with quarterback Josh Johnson for a catch of about 20 yards down the left sideline.
  • The Ravens worked on their kicking contingency plan, lining up punter Jordan Stout for four field goal attempts late in practice while kicker Justin Tucker served as holder. Stout, who went 20-for-32 over his college career as a kicker, hit three attempts, including one from about 39 yards. But he missed a 37-yarder, pushing a line drive wide left of the uprights.
  • Running back Owen Wright continued to bolster his case for a roster spot. He was a popular target out of the backfield and had some solid runs.
